I'm Moa, a family photographer based in Cooks Beach, creating relaxed, storytelling family photography throughout Whitianga, Hahei, Hot Water Beach and the wider Coromandel Peninsula.
Whether you're a local family, regular visitors or on a holiday, I'd love to capture you as you are. Hahei is a beautiful place for family photos. We're lucky to be surrounded by stunning beaches and nature reserves that make taking beautiful photos easy. A few of my favourite local photography locations are the south end of Hahei beach, the pa walk and Cathedral Cove. The best time of the day for these beaches are either during sunrise, sunset or golden hour (within a couple hours of sunrise and sunset). During summertime, this is usually between 6-8am and 6-8pm, and in wintertime it's between 7-9am and 3-5pm. Here are some photos I've taken of families around Hahei.

What's the best time of the year for family photos in Hahei?
A.It depends on what you're after! If you want to walk on the beach in a bikini, or with a baby bump out, and maybe even go for a swim - I'd choose sometime between November and March. If you want empty beaches, easier timings for the kids and beautiful soft light - I'd choose sometime between April and October.
