Lonely Bay at Sunrise
I had the honour of both capturing and witnessing Rebecca & Stephen’s elopement in Cooks beach a few weeks ago. They wanted a relaxed and intimate morning in their special place, and I was SO excited they trusted me to get out of bed in the dark to watch the sunrise before their ceremony. I can’t imagine a more beautiful morning to say “I do” with a simple and lovely ceremony by Angela Sanders.
Couples portraits in nature
The couple asked for natural photos of them interacting with the environment, and we had the perfect location for just that. Lonely Bay is a beautiful remote beach tucked into a Nature Reserve in Cooks beach. The beach is bordered by big overhanging Pohutukawa trees, and beautiful white cliffs on either side. Our post ceremony portraits was focused on them exploring and interacting with nature, while I tagged along and suggested some fun poses and activities.
A chilly swim
When Bex mentioned they wanted to go for a swim (in winter!!) after their elopement ceremony I knew we were in for some magic. And not only did they go for a chilly 8am swim, but they even swam out to the nearby rocks and had a little moment climbing up on them together, the sweetest way of ending a beautiful morning.
